17 MIL, 380GSM OBA-FREE METALLIC INKJET CANVAS ROLLS
Silverada is a 'silver metallic' fine art canvas created from an optimal blend of metallic, silver and pearlescent surface finishes. This metallic canvas is a revolutionary addition to the industry and is another first by Breathing Color. Silverada delivers an extremely high dmax, wide colour gamut and crisp resolution without the use of optical brighteners - all characteristics that have become the hallmark of the Breathing Color brand.
Will this work with my printer? Silverada metallic canvas is compatible with most aqueous pigmented and dye inks.
Works great with photo black ink! If using matte black you will experience some gloss differential and the blacks will tend to smudge/smear. If you do find the print acceptable using matte black you will need to varnish using the spray technique after printing to prevent smearing. Check out Breathing Color's blog post to learn how to spray prints like a pro.
AMAZING IN BLACK & WHITE - Want to see Silverada at it's best? Try printing some black & white images. The results are incredible!
A STANDOUT WITH HDR IMAGES - Your HDR images will pop like crazy.
EXCEPTIONAL COLOUR GAMUT & DMAX - Your images will pop like you've never seen before on any ordinary canvas print.
NO CRACKING OR TEARING WHEN STRETCHING - See it for yourself, without any varnish applied, in this Fold Test.
To maximise longevity Breathing Color recommends applying a print varnish to all aqueous prints. However like Crystalline, Silverada Canvas offers class leading protection against abrasion, moisture and the effects of UV light (because it is OBA free) and therefore is a safer choice for customers that do not want to include varnishing in their workflow.
With the Silverada Canvas hand rolling a water-based varnish is not recommended and will more than likely lift the ink from your print.
OBA-FREE, YET STILL BRIGHT WHITE
Called "Chromata White", this breakthrough technology has set Breathing Color apart for years. Normally OBA-Free products have a yellowish surface. Our "Chromata White" technology, which we released in 2005, forever changed this by delivering OBA-Free with the desired white surface. This answered the needs of customers to maximise the longevity of their prints while maintaining the most popular and desired look.
"Chromata White" gives the end-user the most stable platform on which to print photographs and fine art giclees without the metamerism issues or colour shift issues inherent on other canvases. Optical Brighteners compromise the attainment of true colour, they complicate profiling accuracy, and they inevitably deteriorate and yellow over time. You can read more about OBA's and their long-term effects on inkjet prints.
Lack of water-resistance is a commonly known problem with most uncoated glossy canvas prints. Not anymore. Silverada delivers an increased level of water-resistance for added protection against airborne moisture.
*See above regarding varnishing.
INCREDIBLE SCUFF RESISTANCE
Even without print varnish, Silverada prints are highly resistant to scuffing and abrasion. Compared to matte canvas the difference is considerable.
